My mission and goal with our company is to retire early and to enjoy life without an urgent need to pay bills. Living merely to pay bills is a quick way to a boring and stagnant life eventually that adds unhappiness and stress to your life. Just stating that seems so sad but it is a reality and I want something different. I want to retire by becoming a high-level Director and duplicating the process for others to follow.

In my former work journey I have held various positions from an administrative assistant with the city of Houston, banking positions, Human Resources positions, a math tutor and fourth-grade teacher at the school District, to working disaster areas with the federal government. In between and through all of those years I’ve always managed to have a side hustle in some type of business. Making extra has always made sense to me and I have found that having extra income through a business route was always satisfying to me. I have worked for over 30 years in those positions and on every job I have had to fight and push for raises and promotions, things like going through equal opportunity levels time after time to try to convince someone of my worth had become the normal. I have always performed well but for some reason, employers fail to see your worth.

So eventually I decided to dig into my entrepreneurial roots and give myself a valid shot at success, at real Success. My grandfather was a sharecropper ~ I mean he grew every type of vegetable but the main ones in my era were cucumbers. Fields and acres of those were picked and sold, that was a very humbling job. My mom was an entrepreneur as well, she had many businesses from sewing to cooking, cosmetology, real estate, beauty consultant, tax planning, etc. When I was in sixth grade I became one of her consultants, I had about 8 to 10 teachers and counselors that I took orders, delivered their products, and always kept them in the loop of new products. I did that for all three years while I was in middle school not really knowing that I was enjoying the exchange of products and services for Income.

I’ve had a desire to have my own for a long time so after working and preparing taxes with my cousins’ company, in which I gained a lot of knowledge in that industry, I decided to open my own tax company, Carter Tax Service in December 2017. With the income from my tax company and my travel business, I have been able to continue this journey of entrepreneurship. I was introduced to our parent company’s travel internet business in March of 2010.  Operating an Internet business was something very new to me but I was very attracted to the fact that I didn’t have to order products to have products in the house, in the closet, in the garage, in the trunk of my car, etc. I’ve always worked hard and being in business has given me great joy so I have climbed the ladder and have won several bonuses and contests with the help of awesome leaders and team members who believe in me.

I’m currently a Level One Marketing Director and my advice to anyone trying to reach that level or go past that level is to never give up on yourself. Believe in the process because the process pays off. Acquire a team that shares the same goals and habits ( good habits) as you because success is not gained alone!

Don’t settle for less but be accountable to yourself, your team, and your goals. Set goals that you alone can’t reach because it keeps you in a position to help others always.

Try to always finish, finish, finish what you start because the pill of regret is a hard pill to swallow.

Know that God cares for you and he’s always there before you arrive where you need to be. Enjoy your journey!!!
