How to Ensure Your Success in 2017

How to Ensure Your Success in 2017

You can either lead a life created by design, a life really worth living, or you can end up reacting to whatever is thrown at you every day.

There are two ways to face the future:

One way is with apprehension;

The other is with anticipation.

And how you face the future is directly related to how it will turn out.

Here is the problem for 90%+ of people in North America:

***Most people have no specific, measurable goals.

***Most people’s goals are not written down.

***Most people don’t put in place a daily action plan that incorporates the activities that lead toward the accomplishment of their goals.

***Most people don’t constantly review their goals and their progress.

No wonder that at the end of most people’s lives, they regret all the things they missed…

But if you don’t do any planning, or make specific arrangements for your future, your life, then you don’t have the right to complain about how it ends up.

Now, I already told you that most of us don’t write down specific, measurable

goals, but even most people who set New Years’ Resolutions don’t actually achieve them.

How can you ensure YOUR success?

1. Write Down your 2017 Goals.

It’s a fact: writing down your goals gives you a higher chance of success.

Commit your dreams to paper and there is scientific proof that it increases the “energy around” your objectives and files them away deeper inside your subconscious, which in turn will help you achieve them.

2. Commit.

Move beyond the land of “good ideas” to the land of true “commitment.”  Make the decision that you will show up for your goals. Perhaps you can do a ritual or ceremony to symbolize your commitment.

3. Go Public.

Let your biggest fans in on your new commitments and goals for the year.

Don’t share your dearest idea’s with those who “won’t get it,” or support you unconditionally. Even the Bible, in Matthew ch 7 v 6 it says, “Do not cast your pearls before swine.”

Instead, identify and be in relationships with “like-minded” people. That’s another reason our Champions system of calls, trainings, daily activities & contests are important, for reinforcement and support to partner with you.

4. Be Accountable.

This is even better than just letting others in on your “secret” dreams and goals – get some accountability.

Meet for lunch once a month with a few people on the team that will ask you, “So, how’s it going with your goal?”

Email your TBL or Director and let them know what you are committed to. Talk to your best friend or partner. Get some support!

And know this for certain: If it doesn’t exist with a plan to fulfill your goal, you are already defeated.

5. Make a Plan.

Ensure success with a step-by-step plan.

Work backwards by starting with the end vision of where you want to be and working backwards to where you are today, and calculate what your daily & weekly activity levels need to be. Author Stephen Covey calls this, “Begin with the end in mind.”

6. Do a Goal Check-In.

Before you decide on what you’ll take on for the year, make certain you can answer, “YES!” to the following questions:

  • Am I the primary reason for setting this goal vs. your mom, boyfriend, wife, boss, religious institution or society in general?
  • Do I feel alive and energized by this goal?
  • Is this goal in line with my life purpose or mission?”

Don’t confuse this with being selfish, but you must absolutely connect to the higher purpose of the achievement and see it as beneficial for you, or your subconscious will sabotage you.

7. Get Real!

If you’re thinking about putting a goal down that you always put down and never achieve, stop!

How will this goal end DIFFERENTLY this year?

Is this goal something you need to let go of?

Is this goal masking as a form of self-punishment?

8. Focus With Reminders.

Once you’ve written down your goals & created a plan, figure out ways to remind yourself.

Some people post their goals in on their bathroom mirror or in their car.

Others put reminders in their iPhones or cell phones. Figure out what works for you.

I personally have my goals posted all over the place.

And carry a small printed version of my top objectives with me in your pocket so that at any time you can take it out, read it, and refocus when you need to.

9. Believe and Visualize.

Do you know the story about the group of basketball players who spent one hour visualizing making baskets, while another group actually practiced? The visualizing players had better seasons!

So visualize yourself on New Year’s Eve with all your goals achieved.

What would that look like?

How would it feel?

Visualize once a day and see the difference it can make in your life.

10. Use anchors.

Tie your goal to a habit you already have in place.

You might decide to do your exercise right after your first cup of coffee, or read 15 minutes of self improvement material after checking email.

Anchoring your new behavior and goals to an existing habit is a great tool for success. And structure your life in such a way as to “anchor in” your goals.

Order books (audio, digital or physical) to support and teach you about your objectives.

All of our Champions calls, trainings & contests are anchors as well.

How important is this?

In my opinion, absolutely critical!

I mean it’s only YOUR entire life we are speaking of…

I am so glad that read this. U haven’t written goals and objectives down. I appreciate what you said, in essence, that writing my goals and objectives down “gives light ” to the Universe that I am prepared to receive my abundance. I am taking your suggestion and do that as well as real plan my day out to its entirety. I will keep positive life affirming messages around “suite”. I really appreciate this. Thank you soooo much

  2. I AM Ready! My 3 Year Plan is coming to harvest. Again I have come to understand the Divine power in writing down your Vision. Appreciate guidelines out clearly for direction. It’s my Time!
